No Tax on a Mac from the Apple Store

The state of Tennessee will have a Tax Holiday August 1 through August 3.

Need a MacBook? Apple Retail Store in Germantown is having extended store hours during the TN Tax Holiday.

Qualifying items include:
  • Computers and qualifying peripherals with a combined sale price of $1,500 or less (before tax). Only items that are deemed necessary in the operation of computers qualify for the holiday.
  • The exemption applies to desktops and laptops for personal use.
  • The exemption is for the purchase of a CPU, but may include a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and connecting cables. Software pre-installed on the computer will also qualify for the exemption. The monitor, keyboard, mouse, and connecting cables must be purchased at the same time as the CPU in order to qualify.
